Who is Maura Higgins? Her Age, Career and Love Life Explained

Maura Higgins first caught viewers’ attention with her quick humour and outspoken approach to dating. Since appearing on British television, the Irish personality has built a career that includes presenting, modelling, acting, and American reality competitions.

However, searches about her often mix straightforward questions with speculation. People want to know her age, which programmes she has appeared in, and whether reports about her relationships or appearance are accurate. This guide brings those topics together using established broadcasters and publications, with information checked on 12 October 2026.

How Old Is Maura Higgins, and Where Is She From?

For anyone asking “how old is Maura Higgins,” the answer is 35 as of 12 October 2026. She was born on 25 November 1990, meaning she turns 36 on 25 November 2026. Articles describing her as 33 or 34 usually reflect their original publication dates rather than her current age.

The “Maura Higgins age” question also helps explain her career timeline. She was 28 when she appeared on Love Island in 2019. Although that programme introduced her to a much larger audience, she already had experience working and modelling before entering the villa.

Higgins comes from Ballymahon in County Longford, Ireland. Before television, she worked as a hairdresser and took modelling assignments. RTÉ also documents her work as a boxing ring girl and motorsport grid girl, giving her experience in promotional environments.

Her parents are Sharon and Seamus Higgins, and she has two sisters and a brother. Her mother, Sharon, has appeared in Irish broadcasting herself. These roots explain why Longford remains a recurring part of profiles about Maura, even as her work increasingly reaches American audiences.

How Did Maura Higgins Become Famous on Love Island?

The search phrase “maura higgins love island” refers to her appearance in series five of Love Island UK in 2019. She entered as a bombshell contestant and eventually finished fourth alongside dancer Curtis Pritchard. That distinction matters: she became famous through the show, but she did not win it.

Her direct way of speaking became central to her appeal. Rather than quietly navigating awkward conversations, she challenged comments she disliked and openly discussed attraction. RTÉ’s career retrospective describes how her humour, memorable expressions, and villa storylines helped bring her considerable public attention.

The programme also changed the scale of her online audience. RTÉ reports that she entered with approximately 40,000 followers and gained more than 1.5 million new followers during her breakthrough. That visibility created opportunities beyond dating television.

One early opportunity came through This Morning. ITV announced that she would join the programme in a presenting role after leaving the villa. It was an important step because it gave viewers a chance to see her working outside the contestant format.

Which TV Shows Feature Maura Higgins?

Anyone searching “tv shows with maura higgins” will find a mix of competitions and presenting credits. After Love Island, she competed on Dancing on Ice in 2020 and fronted the one-off programme Maura Higgins: You’re Joking Me!. In 2021, she presented Glow Up Ireland, RTÉ’s makeup competition. These roles required different skills, from learning routines to guiding contestants through challenges.

Her American presenting work includes Love Island USA: Aftersun and Love Island Games: Aftersun. These companion programmes discuss the main shows rather than placing her back in the villa as a contestant. The official ABC biography of Maura Higgins confirms both hosting credits and outlines her broader entertainment career.

She also joined I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2024. In 2026, she reached the final of The Traitors US, season four, as a Faithful. She finished runner-up after fellow finalist Rob Rausch revealed he was a Traitor and took the prize money.

The phrase “maura higgins ciara miller dwts” relates to their announcement as cast members for Dancing with the Stars season 35. They were separate celebrity competitors, not dance partners. Higgins partnered with Mark Ballas, and Good Morning America reported that their debut foxtrot topped that night’s leaderboard.

What Has Maura Higgins Said About Her Appearance and Real Hair?

Searches for “maura higgins before plastic surgery” often lead to comparisons between older photographs and recent red-carpet appearances. However, pictures alone cannot establish whether someone has undergone surgery. Changes in makeup, styling, lighting, age, and photography can all affect how a person looks.

The most useful evidence comes from Higgins herself. In an April 2026 interview with Allure, she said she gets Botox and had lip filler in the past. She also discussed dental work and weight loss affecting her appearance. Those statements should be attributed to her rather than expanded into an unverified list of procedures.

Interest in “Maura Higgins real hair” comes partly from her changing hairstyles. In the same interview, she described her naturally curly hair and explained her use of wigs, including during filming in Scotland’s damp conditions. A hairstyle seen on television therefore may not represent her natural texture.

Her hairdressing background adds context to that interest. She worked in the profession before becoming famous, so hair and beauty were already familiar parts of her working life. Her changing looks sit alongside a career that has included makeup presenting and commercial beauty collaborations.

Who Has Maura Higgins Dated, and What Is Her Net Worth?

Higgins’ best-known early public relationship was with Curtis Pritchard, whom she coupled with on Love Island. Subsequent reporting covered relationships with Chris Taylor, Giovanni Pernice, and Bobby Holland Hanton. These are past relationships and should not be presented as her current dating situation.

Her present relationship status is less clear. Cosmopolitan’s October 2026 coverage discussed an Instagram post that prompted speculation without establishing a confirmed partner. The sources reviewed also did not establish a marriage announcement, so identifying someone as her husband would be unsupported.

The “maura higgins net worth” query requires similar care. No independently verified net-worth figure was established in the trusted sources reviewed. Television appearances, modelling work, and commercial partnerships suggest several income streams, but they do not reveal her assets, expenses, taxes, or contractual earnings.

There is stronger evidence for specific professional work. RTÉ reported her makeup collaboration with Inglot, while ABC lists partnerships with brands including L’Oréal Paris, M.A.C Cosmetics, Guess, and Victoria’s Secret. She also played Rose in the Irish comedy The Spin. These credits describe her career more reliably than an unsourced wealth estimate.

Conclusion

Maura Higgins has developed a varied entertainment career since her 2019 Love Island appearance. Her work now spans television hosting, reality competitions, modelling, beauty partnerships, and acting. At 35, she remains active in both British and American entertainment.

The clearest picture comes from confirmed credits and her own interviews. Her birthday and major programmes are well documented, while her current relationship status and exact net worth remain uncertain. Keeping that distinction makes her story more useful—and more accurate—for readers.
